Five Baitullah bombers enter Karachi

By Faraz Khan

KARACHI: Five members of Baitullah Mehsud group, who could be potential suicide bombers to target officials and government property, have entered Karachi, Daily Times learnt Tuesday.

According to sources, the Federal Interior Ministry sent the letter detailing the potential threat to the Sindh Home Department. Reading from the letter, the source said that the five men have reached Karachi from Wana, Waziristan to carry out suicide bombings.

They could use new technology or methods. Sindh Home Minster Arif Khan confirmed the news, saying that this was not the first time this had happened.

“We receive such letters routinely and take all possible precautionary measures,” he said, adding that they did not want to disclose such threats which may create panic among people and hamper the progress of the law enforcement agencies.
